Google Cloud Certification Study Notes
This hub collects everything Cloud Cert Notes publishes for Google Cloud Platform certifications. Two exams are covered in full at launch. The Cloud Digital Leader (CDL) is the foundation credential: it tests whether you can explain Google Cloud's products, pricing and security model to a business audience. The Associate Cloud Engineer (ACE) is the hands-on associate credential: it tests whether you can set up, deploy, operate and secure real cloud solutions.
Both sections are written from Google's official documentation and the official exam guides, in our own words, and both are free. If you are deciding where to start, the rule of thumb is simple: if your job involves running workloads, aim at ACE; if your job involves explaining, selling or governing cloud adoption, CDL comes first — and many candidates sit CDL as a warm-up for ACE.
The two Google Cloud paths
The Cloud Digital Leader section works at concept level: what each product family does, when an organisation would choose it, and how billing and security are framed. The Associate Cloud Engineer section works at engineer level: the same services, but with the configuration details, gcloud commands, limits and failure modes that the exam's scenario questions assume you know. The topic navigation on every page lists both sections in full.
What comes next
Google Cloud's professional-level exams — Professional Cloud Architect first among them — are the planned next layer of this hub once the associate coverage is complete, and the cross-cloud comparison pages will grow as the Azure and AWS sections open. Until then, everything linked from this hub is finished, checked content: no placeholder pages, no coming-soon stubs.
How the notes are organised
Every service in the ACE section gets its own notes page, filed under the exam-guide section where it is primarily tested, and written to a fixed pattern so you always know where to look: the key facts first, then what the exam expects, then a head-to-head with the nearest alternative service, the traps, and an FAQ. Cross-cutting choices get their own comparison pages, and each exam section closes with a practice quiz. If you already know which exam you are taking, the fastest route in is through the exam hubs below; if you are still deciding, the roadmap page works through the choice in full.
